Scope, honestly. The 26-letter fingerspelling alphabet is recognized by a model trained on real hand landmarks, augmented so it holds up at real hand angles and either camera mirroring (~93% on tilted test hands). So you can spell any word — that’s the whole dictionary, letter by letter. Whole-word signs that depend on motion, two hands, or facial grammar are a research-grade problem we don’t fake: you get 15 built-in word signs, and you can teach the app any others by demonstrating them.

How it works

01

Real landmarks, not pixels

MediaPipe maps 21 points on each hand — up to two at once — and a model trained on real hand landmarks reads the shape. Fast, private, all on-device.

02

Hold to lock a letter

A letter only commits when you hold it steady and confident. A filling ring shows the lock, so words build cleanly without stray double-letters.

03

Teach it any sign

It classifies from a few examples, so you can calibrate the alphabet to your hand — or add a brand-new sign by demonstrating it. The vocabulary is yours to grow.
